The Force of Trend Indicator
Group Pressure Gradient
Key To Interpreting Various Readings
In the following scale, we decided on the term “moderately strong” to describe a strength rating between “moderate” and “strong.”
A reading of 0 to 28 means there is a low-strength positive pressure gradient.
A reading of 28 to 42 means there is a moderate positive pressure gradient.
A reading of 42 to 57 means there is a moderately strong positive pressure gradient.
A reading of 57 to 71 means there is a strong positive pressure gradient.
A reading of 71 to 85 means there is a very strong positive pressure gradient.
A reading of more than 85 means there is an extremely strong positive pressure gradient.
A reading of 0 to -28 means there is a low-strength negative pressure gradient.
A reading of -28 to -42 means there is a moderate negative pressure gradient.
A reading of -42 to -57 means there is a moderately strong negative pressure gradient.
A reading of -57 to 71 means there is a strong negative pressure gradient.
A reading of -71 to 85 means there is a very strong negative pressure gradient.
A reading of -85 means there is an extremely strong negative pressure gradient.
We cap the scale at ±100 because scores beyond that are meaningless. It would be like saying one pregnant woman is more pregnant than another pregnant woman or that one man is more dead than another man. A reading of ±100 is relatively rare. The probability of it occurring is less than one-tenth of 1%. General investment policy would be no different for readings of ±200 or ±300 than for readings of ±100. For example, if you refuse to take new bullish positions at a GPG of -100, then you would not take fewer new bullish positions because the GPG reaches -200 or -300, because you cannot take fewer new positions than NONE.
Information provided about key short-term trends and about the 50-day moving average, combined with information about the force and direction of environmental pressures that may be influencing share behavior, can be helpful as a context for the decision-making process. However, this indicator does not constitute personal buy or sell recommendations regarding specific securities or any securities at all, nor does it propose personal investment strategies. Do not construe the use of the word “you” in the comments here and on the “Home” page about current readings to mean you personally.
